Little Feet and Friends Expands Preschool Ministry Across the Philippines

For more than a decade, Little Feet and Friends has been investing in the lives of children and families across the Philippines through Christ-centered preschool education. This summer marks an important milestone as ministry leaders prepare for the next chapter of growth, leadership development, and expanded community impact.

A Strategic Visit Focused on the Future

From July 11 through July 31, Little Feet and Friends President Ren Sabio and Board Chairman Larry O’Nan will travel to the Philippines to meet with local leaders, teachers, church partners, and community stakeholders.

The trip will focus on evaluating successful practices developed throughout the ministry’s history, strengthening relationships with existing school leaders, and exploring opportunities for additional preschool locations. As the organization continues to grow, the visit will also provide an opportunity to develop long-term plans for expansion and sustainability.

Twelve Schools and Growing

What began as a vision to serve preschool children and their families has grown into a network of twelve thriving schools serving communities across multiple regions of the Philippines.

By the end of 2026, Little Feet and Friends hopes to expand to sixteen schools, adding four new locations that would increase access to quality early childhood education for hundreds of additional children.

If these plans move forward, the ministry could impact:

  • 240 children receiving intentional preschool education each school day

  • 480 parents participating in family engagement, parenting development, and spiritual growth opportunities

  • Multiple new communities gaining access to educational resources that were previously unavailable

Requests for new schools continue to come from underserved communities. While the need is significant, each new location requires committed funding and local partnerships before it can open its doors.

Education That Changes Lives

The mission of Little Feet and Friends extends beyond academics.

Every preschool combines quality early childhood education with character development, family engagement, and Christ-centered values. Children are introduced to a caring learning environment that prepares them for kindergarten and future academic success. At the same time, parents receive encouragement, practical parenting support, and opportunities for spiritual growth.

The impact often reaches entire families as children develop confidence, improve school readiness, and experience the love and care of dedicated teachers and ministry leaders.

Leadership Development for the Next Generation

As the ministry continues to grow, leadership development remains a top priority.

For many years, Danny and Vergie Muego have played a central role in guiding the expansion of Little Feet and Friends throughout the Philippines. Their leadership has helped establish and strengthen schools that now serve hundreds of children annually.

Recently, the latest school year concluded with 192 preschool graduates completing their programs and preparing to enter kindergarten.

As Danny and Vergie transition into advisory roles, a new generation of leaders is stepping forward. One of those leaders is Jojo Madrigal, pastor of Bangar Presbyterian Church in La Union and principal of a Little Feet and Friends preschool. Having served alongside the ministry for more than a decade, Jojo will assume the role of field supervisor and help guide future growth efforts.

Additional emerging leaders are also being identified and mentored as the organization prepares for expansion into new regions.

Reaching Communities with the Greatest Need

Every Little Feet and Friends preschool is located within disadvantaged barangay communities where children and families often face significant educational and economic challenges.

Through child sponsorships and generous donor support, each school provides:

  • Certified teachers and classroom aides

  • Educational curriculum and classroom supplies

  • Daily snacks

  • School uniforms

  • Christ-centered preschool instruction

Many schools operate because faithful individuals and families have committed to sponsoring an entire location, creating lasting opportunities for children who otherwise might not have access to quality early education.

Expanding Opportunities for Agta Children

One of the ministry’s most meaningful initiatives has been serving Agta tribal communities.

Three years ago, Little Feet and Friends launched two preschool programs specifically designed to serve Agta children and families. During this summer’s visit, leaders will continue planning for an additional Agta preschool site through a partnership with Care and Grace Ministries in Agta Village.

These schools provide more than education. They create opportunities for children and families to receive support, encouragement, and resources that can influence future generations.

Building Long-Term Sustainability

Another important goal of the upcoming trip is establishing a framework that allows Little Feet and Friends to receive financial support directly within the Philippines.

Historically, the ministry has been funded primarily through generous supporters in the United States. Expanding local fundraising opportunities will allow Filipino churches, businesses, foundations, and individuals to participate directly in supporting children and families within their own communities.

This step represents an important investment in the ministry’s long-term sustainability and future growth.

Thank You for Making This Possible

Every child enrolled in a Little Feet and Friends preschool represents a life filled with greater opportunity, encouragement, and hope.

Through the partnership of donors, sponsors, churches, volunteers, and supporters, children receive educational foundations that prepare them for the future while families gain access to resources that strengthen homes and communities.

As ministry leaders travel to the Philippines this summer, your prayers and support remain an important part of the work being accomplished. Together, we are helping children learn, families grow stronger, and communities build a brighter future.
